The Project
Known as the friendly club, Sylvania Bowling Club is a great example of how a relatively small club serves the local community by providing a leisure activity through bowls and associated social events. You can hire greens for social bowls and corporate days. The adjacent Bistro, Bar and fully air-conditioned function rooms are using a lot of electricity throughout the year. With the support of a community Grant the club was aiming to lower their bills and carbon footprint at the same time.
The Solution
For over 35 years, SMA has been setting technological trends and driving the development of renewable energies. We Chose 2 x 15KW Inverters of the German company, being one of the top reputable brands in the industry. The Panel array was designed to capture both morning and afternoon sun to maximise the solar power generation, and offset a large part of the clubs refrigeration needs.
The Savings
More than 50,000 kwh of electricity are produced by the System each year and should save the Club around $9,500 per year. The Project was funded through a community grant and while attracting a simple payback time of less than 4 years, it is covered by a full 7 year workmanship warranty for peace of mind.
