The Project
Extra Mile Food Trading buys, sells and delivers premium products to the food services and manufacturing industry, specialising in local and international fresh, frozen and retort products ranging from protein, seafood, dairy and pre-prepared produce. Energy consumption is largely determined by cooling and refrigeration. To reduce their operating cost, Extra mile decided to generate some of their energy required on their roof.
The Solution
After completing the necessary structural engineering specifications, two solar systems were commissioned, made up of over 350 x 400W Half-Cell Module commercial solar panels. This technology is becoming more popular due to some very distinct advantages in performance in low light and high heat situations. Half-cell technology is also more durable for long-life performance.
The Savings
Extra Mile food trading is now saving over 185,000 kWh each year on their sites in Braeside. As a trusted partner Easy Being Green worked with the business and their finance partner to support the project to be cash flow positive from day one, with the asset repayments replacing the energy expenses.
